In our largest arena at the Essex Game and Country Fair, the Andy Singleton Arena, we have space for some of our fastest, biggest and most exciting attractions.
Our horse boarders will be on their Eighth heat of the 2017 championships. An exciting extreme sport, where a boarder is pulled at speeds of up to 29mph around a series of obstacles by a galloping horse. Sounds crazy? It may be – but it’s also incredibly skillful and great fun to watch. We have both Elite and Intermediate heats in the Andy Singleton Arena (Novice in the Countryside Arena) Expect thrills and spills and plenty of flying mud!
Shetland Racing Team
One definitely not to miss as you watch these fantastic little ponies hurtle round the steeplechase circuit with their young riders. Some hilarious between-race interviews reveal the jockeys’ strategies and you will want to scream for your favourites as they race past!
Scurry Trials and Driving
In their Eighth heats of the British Championships; these teams of ponies with their skilled drivers work their way around an arena full of obstacles in the fastest possible time.
Machine Vs Beast
Also with a chosen scurry team; we pit the skill and dexterity of these little ponies against the might of a 4×4 Isuzu vehicle under the expert handler
of Jeremy – a test driver and racing driver. Horsepower v Pony power – who will you be cheering for?
Don’t forget to visit the Isuzu stand! Isuzu are one of the main sponsors of Living Heritage Country Shows.
Watch our amazing birds of prey in action as our expert falconers demonstrate how they fly to the lure and give you a wealth of information about their habits, work and where so many familiar words of the English language come from! With Chris Neal, Ray Pickup, Andy Plant and Ben Long
